Immunity and Anti-Inflammatory Shots: A Simple Recipe for Wellness

Immunity & Anti-Inflammatory Shots: A Simple Recipe for Wellness

In the midst of “sick season” keeping your immune system strong is essential. One of the best (and tastiest) ways to do this is through natural, nutrient-packed immunity shots. These small but mighty drinks are loaded with anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting ingredients like citrus, ginger, turmeric, and honey. The best part? You don’t even need a juicer to make them!

Why Immunity Shots?

Immunity shots are a powerhouse of vitamins, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory properties. Each ingredient in this recipe plays a crucial role:

• Oranges & Lemons – High in vitamin C, these citrus fruits support immune function and promote collagen production for healthy skin.

• Pineapple – Contains bromelain, a natural enzyme that aids digestion and reduces inflammation.

• Ginger & Turmeric – Both roots have powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, helping with digestion, circulation, and overall immunity.

• Cayenne Pepper – A metabolism booster that also helps reduce inflammation.

• Black Pepper – Greatly enhances the absorption of curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, making it even more effective.

• Raw Honey – A natural antibacterial and antimicrobial ingredient that soothes the throat and supports gut health (local honey can even help with seasonal allergies!).

Easy No-Juicer Immunity Shot Recipe

This recipe is simple and requires only a blender or food processor. You can also use a juicer for this if you have one!

Ingredients:

• 4–5 peeled oranges

• 3 juiced lemons

• 1 pineapple, peeled and chopped

• 2 “thumbs” of peeled ginger root

• 2 “thumbs” of peeled turmeric root

• A pinch of cayenne pepper

• A pinch of black pepper

• 1 tablespoon raw honey - local if possible. (I recommend Cooper’s based in Peculiar, MO or Messner Bee Farm based in Raytown, MO!)

Instructions:

1. Add all ingredients to a food processor or high-speed blender.

2. Blend until smooth.

3. Pour the mixture over a fine mesh strainer (you can also use a cheesecloth) to remove the pulp.

4. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. This should yield roughly 12 shots! (I love using these juice shot jars for convenience!)

How to Use Immunity Shots

For best results, take an immunity shot first thing in the morning or before meals to maximize nutrient absorption. You can also add a shot to smoothies or mix it with warm water for a soothing drink.
